--Biographies: Gavin Seedorf--
Gavin Seedorf, born in 1976 has a short auto racing history. However, racing cars, for him,
has always been a dream. "it all started when my family moved to Oklahoma, where my mum taught me how to drive
her Toyota Tercel on the endless miles of gravel roads". For 10 years he raced and competed in Semi-professional
mountain bike races, road bike races, as a surrogate to racing cars. Enough time had passed and enough money had
been saved, after recuperating from 4 years at CU Boulder, and Gavin decided the wait was over. He worked at a
local private race track for a couple of summers (2001-2002) to get his racing fix. Not surprising, this only
strengthened his determination to race. Gavin competed in as many SCCA autocross, rallycross, and ice races as
possible from his home in Aspen, Colorado in his VW station wagon. Finally, after the second successful summer
at the race track, he quit bike racing and spent an entire year researching Colorado hillclimbs, rally races,
and potential race cars to buy. "I knew it was going to take some time, time that I did not have if I kept
racing (bikes) and training. At the end of May of 2003, Gavin bought his first dedicated rally race car, an G2 '89
Ford Escort GT, he raced it a couple of weeks later and decided it was going to take too much money and time to make
it into the car he wanted. Less than a month later, he sold the Ford and bought the car he currently pilots,
a Production, rally 89 VW GTi. Since buying the GTi a year ago, together Gavin and his GTi have competed in almost
10 gravel and tarmac events, finished 9 of them, and has consistently set the fastest times in his class.
